September. . . . .

As we have been away it is only now I have had a chance to paint my “monthly” picture.

Harvest time

We returned from our few days in Switzerland to an abundance of runner beans and courgettes.  Pickled courgette, courgette soup, courgette salad . . . . . .  I have been giving beans away left right and centre.  I made some pretty tasty courgette and pea soup yesterday – recipe attached.

I also, at the instigation of my daughter, had a go at making rose hip syrup, which I had never done before. It is quite nice on my morning porridge!  These little orange gems are in abundance at the moment as well.  Inspired by the beautiful colours I did a pen and watercolour  illustration of “hips”; a branch of which I took to my art group the other night.  Quite pleased with the outcome for a “quickie sketch”.Rosehip

Any way I will pop onto the recipe page and record the soup recipe …..
