I have had a fun packed, noisy and busy fortnight with the family over from Switzerland for a two weeks to make the most of our five year old granddaughter’s half term school holiday. The weather could have been kinder, but we did get a few days sunshine for outside activities. In fact, the rain was so bad for the two days before they were due to leave, I was quite concerned that flooding would disrupt their travels. But, the morning of their departure dawned dry and water that had closed local roads mostly drained away.
No painting or drawing time for me during this period other than with my granddaughter. Bless her she wanted a “painting lesson” to “do” flowers like grandma one wet afternoon. So we set up a “studio” on the dining room table and settled on paining some very brightly coloured gerbera I had in two different vases. This was the result.
All her own work of which she was justly proud!
Another artist in the making!

And I ‘m a lucky granny. We have to make the time when they are so far away. 🌺

Time with a granddaughter is always precious. And, she’ll have some good memories, too.
