August. . . . .

Black leaden skies,

or baking sun;

there is no happy compromise.  (PM 2017)

(As proved today – thunderstorms, hail, rain and hot sunshine.  I was soaked  helping on “the gate” at the local agricultural Show.   Then five minutes after the storms it was too hot to wear a coat. Car parks were a sea of mud when I left after my morning’s work).

august

August brings the  noise of the buzzards continual “mewing” on the hot clear days; floating above us against a back drop of huge cumulus cloud formations.  The promise of the corn harvest.  The battle against the “cabbage white” caterpillar begins in earnest!
